Today our assignments started. 7:15 a.m. breakfast, 08:00 a.m. start of the day, work allocation and briefing, 09:00 a.m. “Let’s get to work”. Today we chopped wood, picked quinces, did the preliminary work for the painting, bought the first food packages, solved IT problems and placed orders for institutions.

Statement from Tobias:
“Today we really got started with the work. I went to P*, where we have been helping out for the last two years. We felled a few trees and chopped wood. On the whole it went well, although the chainsaw gave us a bit of trouble.” We bought the chainsaw last year to make our work a bit easier.

Statement from Isabela:
“Today I was able to have a conversation with some locals and realised that sometimes it is not so easy to reconcile two different ways of working. With understanding and patience, we were able to fix our problems and find a solution to the situation.” Isabela helped with the preliminary painting work.

On the whole, the work has started quite well and exciting projects and assignments await us over the next few days. And now it’s “Yiamas!”, we call it a day.
