Day 2

Early in the morning we met in the center of Skyros to sort out the material. Around noon we left for our island tour. With the bus and a great tour guide we then explored the island.

Here now some information about the country:

Among other things, we saw the on Skyros small famous horses, which are found mainly free living in the mountains. By the way: the highest point of Skyros is about 800m above sea level.

The tour also led us past the harbor of Skyros. In the main season ferries to the mainland run up to 3 times a day. Especially in the summer months the harbor is very busy because of the visitors with the yachts. We could also see the harbor from the higher church, which we visited afterwards. During the annual church festival in summer, up to 1,000 people are expected.

Strengthened after a lunch we finally drove to the tavern, where two of our group will stay until Tuesday and support the family here.
